2011 has been another great year. We were busy printing rush bookplate orders for Christmas right up to Dec. 22nd. Bookplate Ink will be closed for production from Dec. 24th through Jan. 2nd. Owner Karen Gardner will still be accepting orders, answering e-mails and taking phone calls during this time.

Thank you to all our customers! May 2012 bring you much joy!

It's that time of year! Bookplates are beautiful and unique presents for all ages and, therefore, this is our busiest time of year! If you are ordering bookplates to arrive within the U.S. by Christmas day, please place your order by Dec. 10th. If you are outside the U.S., requesting rush service is advised at this time. We do everything possible to ensure all Christmas orders arrive in time!

Karen Gardner of Bookplate Ink recently started a blog about bookplates. Check it out at bookplateink.wordpress.com and subscribe so you won't miss a post!

Bookplate Ink just shipped an order to the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation for our non-personalized N100 bookplates. They are using the popular border design for signing by their keynote speakers. We are impressed with their mission, which is to provide scholarships to "encourage and support outstanding students who work hard, demonstrate a strong will to succeed, and have financial need." Check out their website at: http://www.jkcf.org/.

The non-personalized version of N100 has been so popular with authors and companies for book signings and events that we are adding a new border design in the non-personalized gallery, M752. This is a very attractive border design with a different look than N100. You can see this design by clicking here.

Bookplates Jill Tietjen

Karen Gardner from Bookplate Ink had the pleasure of meeting Jill Tietjen, a loyal bookplate customer, when Tietjen was in Orlando to speak at the Annual Conference for Women Engineers. Tietjen is co-author of Her Story: A Timeline of the Women Who Changed America and carries pre-signed bookplates and bookmarks printed by Bookplate Ink wherever she travels. She writes a personal note on the bookplates for each person who purchases her book. Tietjen's custom bookplates are shown in the bottom right hand corner at http://www.bookplateink.com/custom-artwork/.

We are very excited to announce a new line of bookplates by Evelia, who produced many beautiful and popular designs while an artist at Antioch Publishing in the 1990s. Bookplate Ink is thrilled to offer new contemporary color designs by this popular, nationally licensed artist. The designs, with themes from music to nautical to nature to tea cups, can be viewed at bookplateink.com/index.php/store/evelia-contemporary.html.

Bookplate Ink is currently featured in the weekly blog by avid bookplate collector Lew Jaffe. His blog, Confessions of a Bookplate Junkie, is well-read by collectors and designers throughout the world. In subsequent weeks, he plans to feature artwork by artists at The Antioch Company. These designs are still printed by Bookplate Ink. Check out the blog at http://bookplatejunkie.blogspot.com/2010/08/antioch-bookplates-part-three.html.

We received this news item after sending our latest newsletter:  "Her Story:  A Timeline of the Women Who Changed America" was on "The Denver Post" bestseller list for the 6th time in May 2010.  Authors Charlotte Waisman and Jill Tietjen use bookplates and bookmarks from Bookplate Ink at all of their book signings.  Education resources and book club discussion guidelines and much more can be found at their web site www.herstoryatimeline.com.

Bookplate Ink has three loyal customers who are currently on the New York Times Best Seller list. Congratulations to author Bernard Cornwell, whose book, THE BURNING LAND, is in the hardcover fiction category (www.bernardcornwell.net); Daniel H. Pink, whose book DRIVE appears in the hardcover non-fiction category (www.danpink.com); and Abraham Verghese, whose book CUTTING FOR STONE is in the paperback trade fiction category (abrahamverghese.com). All of these authors give signed bookplates printed by Bookplate Ink to their fans.

We have had great customer response to our non-personalized bookplates. These bookplates provide an option to purchase designs at a lower cost, since they are not custom printed. A great gift idea also! Due to requests from customers, we have added two more popular designs in this category: B213 and M101. Check them out in the non-personalized category.

The Irish Times included an interesting article about the importance of bookplates in its January 11th issue, including a mention of Bookplate Ink. Although we weren't the only company mentioned as a place to buy bookplates, we have had a good response from Ireland. We appreciate our new Irish customers! As was the experience of the journalist, we frequently hear from customers that it's difficult to find bookplates locally, especially personalized ones. You can read the article online at www.irishtimes.com/newspaper.

We recently received an e-mail from a relative of the designer of some of our bookplates from the 1950s. The Young Modern series was created by Benton Ferguson, who was an illustrator for the well-known Saturday Review. It was great to hear from his family! View Ferguson's clever bookplates, Y100, Y200, and Y300 at Young Modern series.

We will be closed for production between Dec. 24 and Jan. 3. Owner Karen Gardner will still be checking e-mail and responding to voice mail during this time.

Our bookplate customers are wonderful, warm and friendly people! We appreciate all of you! Thank you for another wonderful year and for your loyal patronage! Wishing you the best in 2010!

We had a wonderful response to our e-mail sent to customers announcing our new website. We will be sending e-mails every few months with information such as new designs we have added. If you have not placed an order but would like to join our e-mail list, please send us an e-mail. Your e-mail address and information will never be given to any other parties, and we will not e-mail more than once a month.

BOOKPLATES for AUTHORS and ARTISTS!

Bookplate Ink is proud to supply bookplates for many well-known authors. Many authors sign bookplates for their readers. Bookplates are convenient to ship to customers and bookstores. We have several "border" designs suitable for signings and also print bookplates with custom artwork.

Bestselling author Michelle Moran recently ordered a custom bookplate design that includes the jacket artwork from her new book, Cleopatra's Daughter.

Check out her website at www.michellemoran.com.

Author Abigail Arrington is promoting her legal thriller, Precession, with custom bookplates that use her jacket cover artwork.

This exciting author's website is www.abigailarrington.com.

Artists also order bookplates with their own artwork. Amy McGregor-Radin is offering bookplates with her white line woodcut artwork along with her matted and framed artwork. See this design

and others at amradinart.googlepages.com

If you're looking for bookplates with no name printed on them, check out our page of pre-printed bookplates. We are able to offer these at a lower price because they're printed in bulk. We have just added a border design, N100, and the popular B252 to our stock of pre-printed designs.

Our customers have creative uses for bookplates! While many customers give a set of bookplates as a gift to newborns, one customer includes a few classic books with bookplates already on them, along with the gift box of remaining bookplates. We also have customers who’ve ordered bookplates to put in books being given as gifts at weddings, birthdays, and bar mitzvahs. What a wonderful way to give your guests something to remember from your event! Many schools include bookplates in the books they give as rewards for exemplary reading or their “birthday club.” Bookplates are also stylish when used to identify your company in books given at corporate events or books given in memory of a loved one. If you have an idea we haven't included here, we'd love to hear from you!

AUTHORS! Bookplate Ink is proud to have been mentioned by author Rita Gerlach on the Writer Gazette, a resource for writers, at writergazette.com. We have the largest selection of classic bookplates, printed on acid-free cream colored paper. We also have color designs printed on white paper.

Many authors sign bookplates instead of signing books. Bookplates are convenient to ship to customers and bookstores. We have several "border" designs suitable for signings and also print bookplates with custom artwork.

We personally answer all e-mails, so if you have questions or don't see exactly what you're looking for, feel free to e-mail us.

In response to many requests, we are now offering pre-printed non-personalized bookplates at a discounted price. Click on "pre-printed" under the "Bookplate" menu above to view this line of bookplates. These make wonderful gifts and are perfect stocking stuffers! Bookplates encourage children to read and enhance pride in ownership.

We are pleased to once again bring back into print many favorite Antioch Bookplate Company designs from years past. In the B&W gallery, some specialty designs include one for veterinarians (F697), a popular fairy design (F101) and desert and cowboy designs (D300 and C001). We have also added another beautiful Rockwell Kent design (F701).

In the color gallery, we have added a delightful series from Antioch originally titled "Young Moderns" (Y100, Y200, and Y300). And a personal favorite, S201, at the bottom of the color gallery, is a beautiful ocean painting.

These "new" Antioch designs are scattered throughout the galleries, so take your time looking at the designs before making your selection!
